God Promises, God Fulfills
“This shows that God's promises will come true even in the most unlikely situations.”
Like a lot of other people this time of year, I am reading through the book of Genesis right now. There are many things in this book for us to think about. The one thing that kept coming to mind was the huge promise that God made to Abraham.
The story of Abraham shows just how reliable God is when He says He will do something. God made this enormous promise to Abraham when He told him that he would be the father of many people. This important promise not only changed the direction of Abraham's life, but it also set the stage for the nation of Israel and, in the end, for all people.
Abraham and Sarah were very old and had waited a long time before they could have a child. But God kept reminding Abraham of His word. Every time Abraham had doubts or fears, God reassured him of His promise. As an example, when Abraham was worried that he wouldn't have any children, God comforted him that there would be as many of them as stars in the sky. This shows that God's promises will come true even in the most unlikely situations.
The story makes Abraham look like a great example of faith. He had doubts sometimes, but his obedience, like his intention to kill his son Isaac, showed that he really believed in God's plan. In the end, God kept His promise when Isaac was born and through his descendants until today. This shows that His word is trustworthy.
We, Christians, are told to trust in God's promises through Abraham's story. God is faithful even when things look like they can't be fixed. Not only does this story show Abraham's journey, but it also reminds us that God always keeps His promises, giving those who believe hope!
This hope reminds me of Titus 2:11-13
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us that God will come back one day. There is no doubt that God will keep His promises because He is a God who keeps His word. Rest assured that God keeps the promises He makes!
